About this timer: 25 Minute Timer Online
Why 25 minutes?
The Pomodoro Technique, created by Francesco Cirillo, uses 25-minute focus blocks as the sweet spot between deep concentration and sustainable energy. This timer pairs that proven duration with 20-second eye breaks to keep your vision fresh during back-to-back sessions.
How does the eye break work with Pomodoro?
When your 25 minutes are up, the timer prompts you to look at something at least 20 feet away for 20 seconds. This follows the 20-20-20 rule recommended by optometrists. After the eye break, your next 25-minute session can start automatically.
What's the difference between this and a standard Pomodoro timer?
Most Pomodoro timers suggest a 5-minute break between sessions. NowDo20 adds a quick 20-second eye break specifically for screen workers. You can still take a longer break every 4 sessions — this just makes sure your eyes get relief every cycle.
Can I change the break duration?
Yes. Open settings to adjust both the work duration and break duration. You can set breaks to 20 seconds, 30 seconds, 45 seconds, or 60 seconds depending on your preference.
